Believe it or not, there was a time when Tarra didn’t think she’d follow in her mother’s footsteps as a hairdresser. She was an energetic adrenaline junkie who never thought she’d end up staying in the same small town she grew up in. But then, with her mom by her side, she stepped through the doors of the International Beauty Show in New York City, and everything changed.

Following that experience is a 30+ year career of being both a fiercely talented hair stylist behind the chair and a wildly successful salon owner of TarraDean Studio in Onset, MA.

Tarra holds a prestigious position on the Matrix Artistic Design Team, an elite group of educators who set national hair fashion trends. She presents, inspires, and mentors hair stylists all over the country.

Tarra is well known for her innovative cut and color abilities. Her looks have been featured in national campaigns and published in many top beauty magazines. 

Over the years she has loved the variety that her work allows her and the ability to help her clients with their confidence. Hearing her clients' appreciation is so rewarding for her. Tarra believes that if your hair looks good, you feel good.

“You can be wearing the most expensive and beautiful outfit; but if your hair doesn’t look good, you won’t feel good,” Tarra often says. “On the other hand, you could be wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt; and if your hair looks good, you feel like a million bucks!”
