TarraDean Studio sits at 6 Union Avenue in Onset Village — west of the Cape Cod Canal, a few minutes off Cranberry Highway, in the stretch of coastline where the South Coast stops and the Cape begins. That position is the reason our client list looks the way it does. We are close enough to the canal to draw from Bourne, far enough west to draw from the harbor towns, and on the right side of the bridges for everyone who would rather not queue.

Below are the towns we serve most, each with its own page covering routes, drive times and what tends to bring people in from that direction.

Towns We Serve

Wareham, MA

Our home town — Onset Village is part of Wareham, which surprises people who assume the two are separate. Wareham Center, East and West Wareham and the Weweantic neighborhood are all within a few minutes of the chair.

Buzzards Bay, MA

Straight along Route 6 and barely a drive at all. The canal, Main Street and the Maritime Academy campus are all closer to us than to any comparable salon.

Bourne, MA

Seven villages spread across both sides of the canal, from Sagamore Beach down to Cataumet. Cape-side residents cross the Bourne Bridge westbound to reach us — the quiet direction on a summer weekend.

Marion, MA

Fifteen minutes west along Route 6, and the town where our clients most often tell us the alternative was driving to Boston or Providence for color. Sippican Harbor to Onset without a bridge in between.

Also Serving the Surrounding Towns

Beyond the four above, we regularly see clients from Mattapoisett, Rochester, Carver, Plymouth, Sagamore, Sandwich, Falmouth and Mashpee. If you are travelling from one of these and want a sense of the drive or the best time of day to come, call us at 508-295-2535 — we know these roads in August as well as anyone.

Why Clients Travel to Onset Village

Two reasons come up over and over.

The first is the work.

Tarra Dean spent twenty years as a national educator for the Matrix division of L'Oréal, teaching technique to working stylists across the country, and the team she has built came up through that training. That depth of color experience is not something the surrounding towns have much of, which is why people are willing to drive past closer salons to get here.

The second is that getting here is easy.

Onset Village has parking, no rotary, and no bridge for most of the region. For a service that takes a couple of hours, the fifteen minutes at either end matters less than not spending forty of them looking for a space.

You can see the full menu on our hair services page, meet the stylists on our team page, or read what clients have said on our reviews page.
