Hair Salon Serving Marion, MA

Marion has a particular problem when it comes to hair. It is a town where people care how they look and can afford to act on it — and it has almost nothing in the way of a serious color salon within its own borders. So the standing solution has been to drive. To Boston, to Providence, occasionally to New Bedford, for an appointment that costs most of a day.

TarraDean Studio is fifteen minutes away in Onset Village. We are a high-end hair salon serving Marion, MA, and the entire argument for us is that you should not have to leave the South Coast to get color done properly.

Why Marion Clients Make the Drive East

Tarra Dean spent twenty years as a national educator for the Matrix division of L’Oréal — which is to say she spent two decades teaching working stylists how to do this, before assembling a team around that standard. Every colorist here came up through her training.

That is the difference our Marion clients tell us about. Not the room, not the products, but the fact that someone looks at your hair, tells you honestly what it will and will not do, and then executes it. Consultations are complimentary and we use them properly. If your hair is not going to reach the shade in the photograph in one sitting, you will hear that before we start rather than after.

Our Services

Stylists are priced by experience tier — junior, stylist, senior and master — so you can match the chair to the work.

Starting prices are listed on our services page.

A Salon That Has Been Here Thirty Years

TarraDean Studio is not a chain and has never been one. Tarra built it in the village she grew up in and has run it for over three decades. The team continues its education year over year rather than treating a license as the finish line, and we retain stylists — which matters more than it sounds, because the person who knows your hair is still here next season.

If a result is not what you had in mind, we want to hear it and we will put it right; the details are on our commitment guarantee. You can meet the stylists on our team page or read client feedback on our reviews page.

Questions from Marion Clients

How long does it take to get to TarraDean Studio from Marion?

About fifteen minutes from Marion Village along Route 6 through Wareham. From the north end of town near County Road it is closer to fourteen. Either way it is a straight run east with no bridge and no rotary.

Regularly. Parents visiting for a weekend often book while they are in town, and we see students for cuts and colour around the academic calendar. Booking ahead matters most around graduation and family weekends, when the whole area fills up.

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Colour corrections start with a complimentary consultation so we can see the condition of your hair and be honest about whether it is a one-appointment fix or a staged process. We would rather tell you the truth than promise a result in one sitting and damage your hair getting there.

For a trim, probably not. For colour, most of our Marion clients came to us because the alternative was driving to Boston or Providence. Fifteen minutes to a colorist who spent twenty years training other colorist is a different calculation from fifteen minutes to a haircut.
